High Tatras - Strbske Pleso

A special position among the Slovak and also European climatic health resorts is held by Štrbské Pleso on account of the significance and successes attained in the treatment of patients suffering from non-specific chronic diseases of the respiratory passages. This place is the highest in its location as a climatic health resort in Slovakia, situated close to the lake of equal appellation which is of glacial origin, situated at 1351 m above sea level in the western part of the Alpine type of the High Tatras on a moraine terrace of the southern slope of the main Tatra massif which attains 2600 m elevation, It is just this favourable position with therapeutically efficaceous climate that gave origin to the climatic spa of Štrbské Pleso.
